How Often Can You Use An Infrared Sauna?

Over the last couple of months, we have been getting a lot of feedback and questions from our viewers. One question that we kept on getting asked is “How often can you use an infrared sauna?”

Since so many people have asked us this question we thought it would be a great idea to write a post on this subject. In this post we’ll cover everything from what an infrared sauna is to how often you can actually use one.

What Is An Infrared Sauna?

Infrared saunas are a new technology that most people are not aware of. They are very different from traditional saunas, but still, offer most of the same health benefits. These sauna types also have many other benefits that other saunas don’t have. Overall infrared saunas are a great solution for your sauna needs.

Infrared saunas use infrared light to produce heat. This light is absorbed by the surface of your skin. When this happens the sauna heats your body temperature very high, while heating the air much less than traditional saunas. Since this occurs infrared saunas typically heat up to a temperature around 120 to 150 degrees F.

Even though this is true, infrared saunas can still be very successful at making a given person sweat. The infrared light travels deep into the body, which is said to promote vigorous sweat.

To produce this infrared light these saunas use carbon fiber heating panels. These cannot have water poured on them so they do not produce steam like traditional saunas. So they don’t have the same type of repository benefits that traditional sauna have.

A great aspect of infrared saunas is that you can buy cheap kits of them online. These kits are sold on Amazon and include everything you need to install and use the sauna. Compared to traditional saunas, infrared saunas are much easier to construct and much cheaper to buy.

Other benefits that infrared saunas offer are premium sound systems (including radios, speakers, cd players, amplifiers, and AUX outlets), interior lights to the best visibility, towel racks, magazine racks, ergonomic chairs, color light therapy, oxygen ionizers, and roof vents for ventilation. All these features are features that take extra time or cannot be installed in traditional saunas.

Most infrared sauna enthusiasts say these infrared saunas are much more effective at producing sweat than traditional saunas. While this has not been scientifically proven, but it’s something to keep in mind.

With that being said there are also many other health benefits that infrared saunas promote. These benefits include pain relief, improved circulation, detoxification, weight loss, lower blood pressure, anti-aging benefits, and etc. To learn more about the health benefits of saunas then visit this page HERE.

How Often Can You Use An Infrared Sauna?

So you know how infrared saunas work. You also know that they have many health benefits to your body, but how often can you use this type of sauna if you want to get the most from it. Well, there are many answers to this question.

If you’re a completely healthy individual then you should be able to use an infrared sauna once a day for a maximum of 20 minutes. We say a maximum of 20 minutes as you can overheat your body if you’re in there too long and can become very dehydrated.

If you want to extend your sauna experience a little more than 30 minutes is the complete maximum you must go. Just make sure you bring a lot of water to hydrate yourself.

So far there hasn’t been any negative correlation with long-term infrared sauna use. On the flip side, there have been many positives correlations if you use infrared saunas correctly.

Overall you shouldn’t worry about how often you use an infrared sauna if you use it safely. All research has pointed to the fact that they are very safe and offer many health benefits. Just make sure you’re never in the sauna for over 30 minutes. Along with this, you shouldn’t use the sauna more than twice a day.
